A beautiful 18th century renowned château.

A beautiful château built in 1792 and close to Béthune, La Chartreuse du Val St Esprit is a magnificent hotel set in tranquil parkland with an internationally renowned restaurant and two brasseries..

As guests arrive, they will be impressed by the grandeur of the château. From the lovely reception up the magnficient staircase and along the wooden corridors with exposed beams , La Chatreuse du Val St Esprit exudes classic French charm of the past. The 53 bedrooms are furnished with period furniture, each in their own style. The gourmet restaurant offers regional cuisine traditionally made with local produce, some of which is grown in the impressive market garden in the grounds of the hotel. The hotel is located close to Béthune in the village of Gosnay, with its famous site of two ancient monasteries. Arras and the market town of St Omer are also within reach.

Product Comment: What a beautiful place. The staff can not be beaten for the qaulity of service. Nothing is to much trouble for them. From assistance with luggage, to understanding my terrible French. Be aware though that thje cheaper of the restaurants left a little to be desired in so far as the service was so slow. We waited for two hours for the main course. The main restaurant in the house was perfect. The food was superb and a comprehensive wine list topped it all. We sat in the gardens enjoying a drink which Mary the very convivial waiter brought out for us. Altogether, a very enjoyable experience. An a big thank you goes to all
