Honfleur/ Le Touquet - 3 nights
3 nights from £145 per person
Day 1 & 2
Travel from Calais to Honfleur (approximately 2 hours 30 minutes) and stay 2 nights at the centrally positioned 3* Le Cheval Blanc. Tucked away at the mouth of the Seine, Honfleur has been described as the prettiest town along the Calvados Coast. Take a visit back in time to this wonderfully preserved port, seemingly untouched by the wars of the 20th century, with its rich maritime heritage and artistic spirit that have been around for centuries. Here are some of the places of interest in Honfleur:
- Markets - Honfleur is a hive of activity and the local markets are full of treats and treasures. The Honfleur Brocante is a large second hand market that takes place on the second Sunday of the month and the Bio Market sells lots of sumptuous local produce every Wednesday morning.
- The Vieux Bassin - is the old port, which still operative, is surrounded by the crooked slate-fronted houses that typify the place. Full of art galleries and cafés in converted salt stores.
- The Eugene Boudin Museum is set in a 19th century chapel and is worth visiting for anyone with an interest in art. Permanent and temporary exhibitions are shown in 9 rooms. Open every day except Tuesday.
- Les Maisons Satie - This is as unusual as it is interesting. A surreal tribute to the eccentric composer who was born in Honfleur in 1866.
- Sainte Catherine's Chapel is the largest wooden church in France, built by the town's shipbuilders in the 1460's and a magnificent structure in its own right. Worth visiting to hear a choir sing amid wonderful acoustics.
Day 3
Drive back up the coast to Le Touquet, just over 2 hours by car, where you will stay 1 night at the 2* Hôtel Red Fox right in the centre of town. Le Touquet has been fashionable with the stylish British and French since the 1920's, yet it retains it's small town appeal through its boutiques, gastronomic restaurants and self-presentation. Add to this the leisure pursuits -spas, golf courses, casinos and beaches - and Le Touquet is a very attractive destination all year round.
Day 4
Spend a morning in Le Touquet before heading back to Calais for the return Eurotunnel or ferry journey.
What's Included:
- Return crossing with P&O ferries Dover-Calais
- 3 nights' accommodation as detailed above, in a standard room on bed and breakfast
- Guide books
- For peak travel by P&O or travel by Eurotunnel, supplements may apply

Calais/Le Touquet/Deauville - 3 nights
3 nights from £149 per person
Day 1
Following your arrival in Calais, drive straight to the 3* Holiday Inn Calais Coquelles. Calais, situated in the north-west corner of France on the Opal Coast, la Côte d'Opale, is often referred to as the most English town in France; the town was in English hands for more than 200 years until 1558, is home to a famous lace industry that was set up by Nottingham lace makers in the early nineteenth century and, at 22 miles distance, is France's closest point to England. Many visitors, arriving to take advantage of cheap shopping in the many hypermarkets, are surprised at how much more Calais has to offer both in its town and the surrounding area. Here are a few places to visit:
- The Six Burghers Monument was sculpted by Rodin in 1895 and is Calais' most famous monument. It represents the six noblemen who surrendered themselves to Edward III of England, following the siege of the city, on 4th August 1347, in order to save the townsfolk.
- Fine Art and Lace Museum (Musée des Beaux Arts et de la Dentelle) - Demonstrates the history of lace making from when it was hand-made in the 16th century up until the modern machine made lace.
- The War Museum (Musée de la Guerre) is set in a blockhouse, which was once the command post to the German navy and its exhibitions illustrate life during the war in Calais and the surrounding area with a collection of arms, uniforms, flags, models, period newspapers, posters, items from planes shot down in the region, different types of propaganda used and information on the Resistance.
Day 2
Leaving Calais drive on to Le Touquet, less than an hour away. Stay 1 night at the 3* Le Bristol. Le Touquet has been fashionable with the stylish British and French since the 1920's, yet it retains it small town appeal through its boutiques, gastronomic restaurants and self-presentation. Add to this the leisure pursuits -spas, golf courses, casinos and beaches - and Le Touquet is a very attractive destination all year round.
Day 3
After spending the morning in Le Touquet, continue down the coast (approximately 2 hours 30 minutes) to Deauville. Here you will stay 1 night at the 3* Le Clos Deauville St Gatien. Deauville is considered to be one of the most glamorous resorts along the coast of Normandy. The Promenade des Planches along the beach is perfect for people watching, and with it's casinos, racetracks, yachting harbour, golf courses and polo grounds. When in Deauville, why not visit the:
- Les Planches - Deauville's long beach front is a throw back to the early 20th century, with brightly coloured beach huts and a delightful boardwalk against a backdrop of wonderful period properties.
- Racecourses Clairefontaine and La Touques - high quality racing throughout the year and great enjoyment.
- Pompeiian baths - restored Romanesque public baths, a local treasure.
Day 4
Leave from Deauville in the morning and drive back to Calais for your return crossing to Dover or Folkestone.
