Taxis
The airport is a 20 minute taxi ride to the médina or 15 minutes Guéliz (the modern part of town).
Taxis are the easiest and quickest option for getting to town from the airport. The no.11 bus is supposed to run every half hour to the Place Djemaa El Fna, but it can be erratic. Petits taxis or grands taxis are a better option, though you will have to watch that you pay a reasonable fare
Petits taxis which you can pick up in front of the airport terminal cost about 50dh (it is best to agree the price before the start of the journey, unless of course the driver agrees to use the meter).
Shared grands taxis, which also wait in front of the airport building, charge about 60dh for up to 6 passengers for the trip to Jemaa el Fna/the medina, with similar prices to Guéliz and Hivernage. At night there is up to a 50% surcharge on the metered fare.
Arriving at the airport before 8am or after about 6pm any day of the week, you won't always find the BMCE or Banque Populaire kiosk open to change money or traveller's cheques; taxis, however, will usually accept pounds or dollars, at more or less the equivalent dirham rate.
