Alsace

Alsace - Overview

Alsace offers the tourist something quite unique. Due to its turbulent history and constant alternation between French and German occupancy, the region boasts an amalgamation of styles, architecture and cuisine. Alsace is sheltered between the pine-covered Vosges and the Jura mountains. It is famous for its wine routes and pretty medieval villages and the region is beautiful all year round. The mountains are snow capped until spring, and in summer, the open countryside is ideal for walking and cycling. Steeped in history, the region not only has the fascinating sites to visit but also radiates so much character and culture.

The region is home to a sumptuous selection of cuisine and local specialities, which combine the heartiness of German fare and the French finesse that we all know and love.

From wine connoisseurs to history buffs, to outdoor lovers, the region has something for everyone.

A superb place to take the family with attractions such as zoos and safari parks available throughout the region.
