This stunning historic city, which stands as a reminder of the Russian occupation, is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tallinn is the oldest capital city in Northern Europe; it was put on the world map in 1154 by an Arabian geographer al- Idrisi but Tallinn was a meeting point between east and west already centuries earlier.
