Copenhagen is always a lively city and has a wealth of entertainment on offer in the evenings. Late afternoon / early evening it’s worth taking a walk along the Strøget, especially between Nytorv and Højbro Plads, to take in the street performers before moving on to one of the many bars, backstreet cafes or clubs, many of which play live music. Nightclubs don’t normally start to get going till about 11pm. Licensing laws are liberal and it’s generally easy to find somewhere to have a drink 24 hours a day.
For more high-brow entertainment, there is a variety of places for theatre, opera, ballet, classical music, jazz etc.
A free monthly English magazine, Copenhagen this Week, is available in hotels and tourist offices which has up-to-date listings for entertainment venues, restaurants, and bars etc.
