Brussels has a wide and varied selection of venues for opera, classical music and dance, rock and jazz, theatre and cinema, with many acclaimed and world-famous performers including the city on their tours. The magazine is available at most newsstands with the listings section often available for free in hotels.
The rest of the nightlife is centred mainly around the city’s pubs and cafes. A popular place for tourists in the evening is the Grand Place, where you can sit and people watch from the many cafes. Other popular areas are the Place Saint-Géry and the Rue du Marché au Charbon where there are a variety of places for drinking and eating. Most bars and cafes open in the morning and will close around 2am or 3am. Discos and nightclubs tend not to get going till after 11pm remaining open till 5am or 6am.
