Although not the cheapest place for shopping, Brussels has a wide and varied range of shops, and many of its home-grown products are more reasonably priced.

Shops are normally open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm although some of the bigger department stores and shopping malls may have slightly longer hours and some food stores and newspaper shops are also open for a few hours on Sunday. Sale dates are fixed in Belgium with the summer sales running from 1st – 31st July and the January sales from the first weekday after New Year’s Day to the end of the month.
