Brussels has an excellent transport system which is run by the STIB (Société des Transports Intercommunaux de Bruxelles) which is easy to use and inexpensive.

The transport system is made up of the métro, prémetro, trams and buses.

A single journey will normally cost €1.50 but multiple journey tickets can be bought (5 journeys = €6.50, 10 journeys = €10) as can 1 day cards (€3.80) and 1 day group cards (max 5 persons, €6.50).

Tickets can be bought from STIB offices, stations, tourist offices, and many newsagents. Travel for over 65’s is free.
