Bruges Old Town is almost an island encircled by canals. At the centre of the island are the Markt and Burg squares, around which city life revolves.
You will find the majority of museums are open on Sundays, and closed on Mondays. It is, though, always worth checking opening days and times beforehand, especially if you’re only visiting for a couple of days. For information on Bruges’ museums, visit www.brugge.be/musea
Tip: Children under 13 go free into most of Bruges’ museums, with reductions for young people aged 13 – 26 years, and the over 60s.
