Onze Lieve Vrouwe Kathedraal (Cathedral of Our Lady)
Antwerp’s cathedral is one of the most stunning Gothic buildings in Belgium. It took 200 years to build, and was completed in 1521. At the time of its construction, Antwerp was one of the richest cities in Europe, and the cathedral was intended to reflect the city's mercantile success. It contains a wonderful collection of Gothic paintings and sculptures, and several of Rubens' masterpieces, including The Raising of the Cross and The Descent from the Cross.
