The climate in Belgium is similar to that of the UK. The summers are mild (the average temperature is 16ºC), but the winters are colder than you might expect thanks to an icy wind which blasts down from the Baltic.

The weather is unpredictable in all seasons with sudden showers as likely as bright sunshine, so it's worth packing for all temperatures. The winter days are short, but in summer it is not unusual to enjoy the sunset at 9 or 10pm.
