Stratford-upon-Avon is the home of William Shakespeare and continues to attract visitors from all over the world who come to watch one of his famous plays and visit his birthplace. Since 2008 it is now possible to combine the two with the new Shakespeare Aloud experience with live performances held throughout the day at the all of the Shakespeare Houses: Mary Arden's, Shakespeare's Birthplace, Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Hall's Croft, Nash's House and New Place.

The region has much more to offer including two of the most important castles in English history: the magnificent Warwick Castle and the ruins of Kenilworth. Nearby Royal Leamington Spa is an elegant town with Georgian and Victorian architecture as well as excellent shopping and dining. In the surrounding countryside there are plenty of opportunities for more leisurely pursuits and picturesque towns and villages to explore.
