Cumbria is home to England’s five highest mountains as well as the country’s deepest lake, a truly unique landscape that has made it one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations and world-renowned. The sport of climbing was founded in the area in the 19th century and today climbing remains a popular activity in the Lake District.
