Catalunya, also know as Catalonia, is one of Spain’s most picturesque regions and encompasses the vibrant city of Barcelona as well as the Costa Brava, Costa del Maresme and Costa Daurada in the north-east of Spain. The area has an amazing diversity of landscapes: in addition to the fantastic beaches and rugged coastline, the Pyrenees are close by - as is southern France.  The rural areas are dotted with medieval villages and there are plenty of family-friendly attractions including the Port Aventura theme park.
