Most holidaymakers are attracted to Lazio for the many historical sights of Rome but the surrounding area has a lot to offer. Villas and rural character houses enable tourists to visit the city but enjoy a little more space and greater opportunity to relax.

With investment and employment also concentrated in the capital, the neighbouring towns and villages are often quiet and even neglected but for tourists this means unspoilt countryside, undiscovered ancient towns and perhaps a more enthusiastic reception from the locals.
