The region around Cardigan Bay on the west coast of Wales attracts a wide range of visitors for a short break. Families are drawn to the area for the clean sandy beaches and range of attractions whilst nature lovers and walkers return time and time again for the breathtaking natural scenery. The coastline is dotted with waterfalls, caves, hidden coves and wild rugged cliffs reached via numerous scenic walks across the headlands.
There are a number of interesting towns and villages in the area well worth a visit. The university town of Aberystwyth is the cultural capital of Wales and home to the National Library and Arts Centre as well as the world’s longest cliff railway and the world’s largest camera obscura. The picturesque towns of Cardigan and Aberaeron, New Quay, Lampeter and Aberport are all worth exploring, and any stay in the area would not be complete without a boat trip through the bay to spot the dolphins.
