Fuelled by the Irish ‘Celtic Tiger’ economy and boosted by a plethora of young fashion designers, shopping in Dublin has taken on a new dimension. It is a major shopping capital with stacks of couture, modern designer stores, large plazas and off-beat boutiques. Shops generally open their doors Monday-Saturday between 9am-6pm and stay open until 8pm on Thursday. Larger stores open Sunday from noon-6pm. Most shops close on public holidays.
