Since the breaking down of the Wall in 1989, Berlin has been reinstated as the political and cultural capital of a reunified Germany. Since that momentous event, Berlin has once again become a vibrant, exciting and lively city with much to offer its visitors including three opera houses, over 150 theatres, more than 170 museums and a good selection of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Whilst a period of new construction has created a dynamic and cosmopolitan city, it has also maintained its historical charm thus creating an intoxicating mixture of old and new.
